Ten books I’d slay a lion to get early

I love the prompt for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. There’s a lot of books I want this year that I have to wait for. And for some of them, I have no problem waiting. But for others…others I truly would do most anything to get one early. Apparently that extends to slaying a lion. (Though truthfully, if it came down to it I’d never be able to do it. It’d be too scary!)

Anyway, this is my ultimate list of books I really, really, REALLY want. I will probably cry tears of joy if I got any of them earlier than other readers.

January 8th, 2019. (I don’t know how I’m going to wait this long!)

This is my number one right now. If I got this one I would disappear to read it in one go. I really loved the first and am so excited for this one!

This is the final installment in my favorite alternate-historical fiction. Lada is one of the most powerful female characters I’ve ever read. And her brother, Radu, is also extremely well-written. These siblings are two of my favorite characters.

I loved the first novel in this series and have been eagerly anticipating the second since I finished. I must see how it continues!

I’m intrigued by this because the author is a bookstagrammer and book blogger who writes books in two days. The story also sounds really sad but hopeful, so I want to check it out.

The final installment! I have to see how it ends.

I love this new cover, but I’m also really sad that they changed the style for the second book so now my first book won’t match it. I hate when that happens. But I’m excited for this book!

July 3rd, 2018 (US edition)

This one sounds kind of space horror-y so I want to see what it’s about. The last sci-fi that scared me was 172 Hours on the Moon, so I’m interested in seeing if this one is as scary.

I’ve been reading the Fushigi Yuugi series since I was in middle school. Now Yuu Watase is working on the final series and I can’t wait until it’s translated into English. I may try to work my way through the Japanese copy though because I’m super impatient.

I’m putting this one lower because I haven’t read the first one yet. But there’s still time before the release of the second one! I just need to get cracking.

What are your MOST anticipated reads? The ones that you’d do anything to get?

Top Ten Tuesday was originally started by The Broke and the Bookish, which is sadly finished. But it’s moved over to The Artsy Reader Girl! I’m glad it’s still continuing. If you want to follow along, here’s the list of planned topics!

May 1st’s topic was “Books I’d slay a lion to get early.”  If you’d like to check out the other posts people have written, you can find it on The Artsy Reader Girl’s page!
